Social Media

Boy, are we glad your back. We missed you and hope you'll return often.

Social media can take several diverse forms, including Internet forums, message boards, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, pictures and video. Technologies consist of: blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email, instant messaging, music sharing, crowd sourcing, and voice over IP, to name a few.

Social networks allow you to post videos, articles, podcasts, Blogs, bookmarks, links, profiles and comments. It's very easy to share your message or marketing information through the use of these social sites. Content is nonetheless still king and your message needs to be of interest to the readers to be able to spread it around.

And now on to the article

Social Media is a topic that is really hot now and I’ve just started this web site to take advantage of the things that people other than us know.  If I can help someone with some of the easy things maybe I can learn from someone else also.

Some of the people that I watch and listen to are Lynn Terry, Justin Brooke, Josh Spalding and others.

Some of the things that are happening lately are:

The other new change is the updated Digg widget generator. It’s slicker, faster, provides more links to the publisher’s content, and can be customized with tabs and columns. I’ve embedded a quick version of the widget specific to Mashable to give you an idea of what the new widgets look like (Note: For some, the widget reverts to an old style; we think this may be a bug that has yet to be fixed):

Other things are questionable, like: A website that I often like to use for helpful information is called Mashable.com. On this site you can find all sorts of helpful information for your business like 10 Rules for Increasing Community Engagement which is super important when planning social media campaigns. I also found the articles 9Tips for Enriching Your Presentations With Social Media and How to Measure Social Media ROI, something that comes to mind when spending money on Social Media. So if you are  teaching yourself how to build your Social Media “hub” for your business check out Mashable, you will learn a lot!

Can You Deal With Your Cards?

Social Media can take several diverse forms, including Internet forums, message boards, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, pictures and video. Technologies consist of: blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email, instant messaging, music sharing, crowd sourcing, and voice over IP, to name a few.

Social networks allow you to post videos, articles, podcasts, Blogs, bookmarks, links, profiles and comments. It is incredibly quick to share your message or marketing facts via the use of these social websites. Content is even so still king and your message needs to be of interest to the readers in order to spread it around.

If your ready, here is the article

Excerpted from Learning to Dance in the Rain by Mac Anderson and BJ Gallagher

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough,
and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to
clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger
into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and
creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie, therapist, author

Someone wise once said, “Circumstances don’t determine your character-they
reveal it.” Who we are as human beings is revealed most clearly during times
of struggle, hardship, pain, and suffering. It’s easy to be a good person
when things are going great. But when times get tough, that’s when you’ll
really find out stuff you’re made of.

Nowhere is this more true than with regard to gratitude. Are you grateful
when the storm clouds gather, and it rains on your parade? Can you find
gratitude in your heart when you don’t get what you want? Do you feel
grateful when illness strikes, loved ones don’t show up for you, jobs and
careers disappoint, and nothing seems to be going your way?

Gratitude is not a fair weather virtue. True gratitude means appreciating
your life no matter what the storms may bring. Is simply being alive gift
enough for you to feel grateful?

“You have within you right now, everything you need to deal with whatever the
world can throw at you.”
~Brian Tracy, motivational speaker and author

    How to Age Your Site

Examples of Social Media applications are Google Groups (reference, social networking), Wikipedia (reference), MySpace (social networking), Facebook (social networking), Last.fm (personal music), YouTube (social networking and video sharing), Second Life (virtual reality), Flickr (photo sharing), Twitter (social networking and microblogging) and other microblogs for instance Jaiku and Pownce. Numerous of these Social Media services can be integrated via social network aggregation platforms like Mybloglog and Plaxo.

Social networks allow you to post videos, articles, podcasts, Blogs, bookmarks, links, profiles and comments. It is really easy to share your message or marketing details via the use of these social sites. Content is nevertheless still king and your message needs to be of interest to the readers in order to spread it around.

    With that said, please enjoy

I just read an article over on Market Samurai‘s blog about how to age your site.  Of course you can’t really age your site but you can do some tricks to use the age of an older site so you will rank better than a new site would.

We all see many sites that don’t have a lot of backlinks and the content might not be the best or a lot of it, what-ever.

Well some of those sites rank better than our new site in a niche that we are  trying to rank for simply because they are older.  Age does mater.

I would suggest you run over to the Market Samurai site and take a read ( it will take you about 5 min.) and see what I’m talking about.

If I were more than a hobby player I would know how to tell you how to do the work.  But I’m not so you’ll have to find out for your self.

If you don’t know anything about Market Samurai, it’s a great Keyword tool that can do a lot of things and I think that they still have a free trial.

Don’t worry this link isn’t an affiliate and you don’t have to sign in to get to read the article.

    Just go read it.

      Internal Linking in Squidoo

Social Media can take numerous diverse forms, including Internet forums, message boards, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, pictures and video. Content is nonetheless still king and your message needs to be of interest to the readers in order to spread it around.

So here is the article that we have for you

I just read a hoot of an article by “TeaTree” from the “52 Squidoo” that I mentioned I’m involved with this year.  It’s about the use of Internal Links to promote your Squidoo lens.

It sounds quite complicated when you first read it, at least to me anyway, but after looking at the visual he has made, it makes it a little easier to understand.

I just was getting used to understanding back links and how to make them and the difference between regular links and ancor links.  Now I’ve got to think about something different yet in the same ball park.

Anyway the link to this article is called “The Importance of Internal Linking on Squidoo” and you can find it on his site called “My Internet Marketing Blog“.

I also read another article (see why I don’t get anything done) about what is the most important to do?  Focus on one thing or do a lot?  Very interesting that the writer said that the focus is the most important but that the learning curve would stay pretty much flat if he didn’t do the other things that help him to grow in his Internet Marketing education.

      Enough for today.

      C U next time.

      Adsense Bootcamp 101

Social Media can take quite a few diverse forms, including Internet forums, message boards, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, pictures and video. Technologies include: blogs, picture-sharing, vlogs, wall-postings, email, instant messaging, music sharing, crowd sourcing, and voice over IP, to name a few.

Social networks allow you to post videos, articles, podcasts, Blogs, bookmarks, links, profiles and comments. It is extremely effortless to share your message or marketing info through the use of these social websites. Content is nevertheless still king and your message needs to be of interest to the readers so that you can spread it around.

So here is the article that we have for you

As I mention in last weeks post I’ve been getting started with my Adsense Bootcamp and I’m getting backed up a little.  That’s nothing unusual because I leave things to do that should get done right away and then rush through them and don’t do a very good job.  We are up to the final stage of keyword research and should be categorizing the words or phrases under the title and then discovering the titles of the articles that we will need to write to get our site up and running.

I haven’t decided my niche yet.  I’ve got it down to about 5 out of 18, so that’s not too bad but I’ve got to settle on one and go for it.  I know it comes down to picking one but when your going to be writing 25 to 30 articles about a subject and then advertising with article marketing with another 10 or 15 articles that have to be even better than the other group, or at least as good, it’s a little different than coming up with 5 short articles about a niche for a Squidoo lens.

So I’ve got to get at it.  Maybe I can get a little done tomorrow.  The Cable guy is coming to hook up my wifes computer to the internet.  I know that the end of that.  I’ll be getting her set up with gmail and NetFlix and how ya do this and that.  That will be neat though.  I never expected this day would come.  I’ve been on line since about ’83 and have been holding my own when it was always determined that I was spending too much time on that computer.  Now she will have to try it.  Hope she enjoys it as much as me.

For a side note, I just finished watching the movie 2012.  If you watch it keep your eyes open and catch as much as you can.  There is a lot of graphics that is just GREAT!  I liked it for that.

Have a good week.  Will see you next trip.
